Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat If you've got a problem you just can't figure out, a noise you can't diagnose, or a check engine light that won't go away, ask about it here!

How difficult will this be?

converting a car from auto to manual involves more wiring than that

You can do that, but you would have to really want it automatic (e.g. the car is for someone who can't drive manual) to justify the effort. It'll be a lot simpler to keep the car manual-- either run the existing ECU (which will work perfectly except no VTEC) or buy a manual D16Y8 ECU and hook up the couple of wires for VTEC.

ya dont go thru the hassle of converting it to a auto. theres so many wires and parts youd have to swap over it would be a PITA!
its doable since you have both cars, but youd be basicaly striping the guts from each car and swaping it into the other.......

if you got the time....... go ahead... if you want to save time and get a car on the road just swap the motor.
