Default How to fix slightly misreading speedo?

Hey all. I got another question, one that the Honda Honda manual does not seem to cover. What do I do to fix a speedometer that reads exactly 5 MPH too fast at every speed?

This excludes the "speedo over reads at high speeds" feature, as I am referring to any speed from 5-65 MPH.

Does calibrating a speedo invoke turning an adjustment thing in a something or does it involve something more?

its usally a gear reduction(sometimes addition) attachment that goes on your tranny that the speedo cable attaches to

i moved my needle on the speedo. i thought it was off after i moved it (on accident), but it is now accurate up to 90 mph. i know because i was clocked by laser going 90

i guess i got lucky when i moved it

its not a bad gear its your tire size changed from stock size, thats usally is what causes the difference in mph, if you didnt change yout tires, i have no clue, in my teen muscle car days we had to put a gear reduction on after cramming some 60s on the cars to keep the speedo correct

you could make friends with a law enforcement agent aka police officer with radar. have him clock your car each time you slightly ajust the needle on your guages until it consistantly reads the same speed as the radar gun clocks you
