Unhappy How many oil pumps does it take?

Hello All. I'm new to the forum so be gentle. I'm a seasoned mechanic and have spent a fair amount of time on the civics. Right now, I'm dealing with an 02 LX auto non-vtec. When I owned a shop a year ago, this car came in with an oil leak. Turns out that it was leaking past the o-ring that sits between the block face and the oil pump. So, I pulled the pump and replace it with an aftermarket one. All is good when it rolls out. 600 miles later, it comes back in dumping the oil out. This time the pump pressure regulator was stuck and it was sending over 300psi to the filter. The filter would balloon out and distort and cause it's seal to fail then dump oil out fast. Well here we are 6000 miles later and it's back looking like the original problem. Drips oil out of the timing belt cover when the engine is cold. I'm trying to get the CS pulley bolt out but it won't come loose. Has any one run into a case where the oil pump just won't stay sealed shut? This has gotten old already. Not really looking forward to doing a 4th pump in less than a year, especially on my dime. Man O Man.
