Yet another problem, now all my controls for the HVAC are stuck in defrost mode, the lights on the indicators come on when you press the buttons and nothing, before i go looking for vaccume leaks under the dash, any ideas where to start would be helpful. I can take a third generation accord apart with my eyes closed, but i'm not used to working on this civic yet. it's a 98 lx auto with the rubberband size motor non vtek

 

The control system is all electric, no vacuum. I think every model after 1995 had a computer in the control panel and there is a way to run a self-test on it.
