i know its not a honda
my uncles car got broken into and tried to get stolen. they broke where the key goes. so he took hat out and now uses a screwdriver to start the car. i guess where you first put the key its ok not damaged. but the other piece that is connected to this is whats broken. wanted to know what its called and how i can replace it. its a 2000 dodge neon. i know i know, a neon...ugh. But after helping him out im disowning him as my uncle because he didnt buy a honda. lol thanks guy.

That part is called the lock cylinder. If the Dodge uses a single key for everything like Honda does, you could have a dealer or locksmith rekey the new one so the old key will still work the ignition as well as the doors.
You may also need the outer part also if it has been damaged.
