Idling really high
Hi everyone.
I have a 97 civic DX, with a D16Y8 engine. Body has 227k, motor has 110k. I've only had the car for around 2 weeks.
It idles at 1500 rpm, on neutral, and when in gear when I have the clutch pressed all the way. It actuallygoes between 1400-1500, and I canhear it going down and up as regular as a heartbeat. If I let go of the cluth halfway, it will go down to 1100 or so.
I'll appreciate any help.

I can't really be more specific since I don't know much about cars. I am trying to learn however.
The car just idles really high, at 1500 RPM, and you can hear the engine going up and down fast enough, as the RPM goes between 1400-1600 RPM.

Checked the throttle cable and butterfly, all fine. Tension is within norm according to the manual. Gonna check for a vaccum leak. My buddy told me to pass a small propane stream over the vaccum system and if the engine suddenly idles higher it signifies a leak.
