Default Ignorant or Issue?

I have a 99 Si with a B16A. The low RPM driveability is very cruel. Will I ever be able to create a machine I can tolerate in stop and go traffic or is this just one of the things you must give up to scream at 7000 RPM?

I already have an K&N intake, cat-back exhaust, & LSD. Would replacing the ignition system help?

Thanks and I love the site.

Yes to the first question and no to the second one. You have a B16, which means you have crappy torque. Thats why you have to rev it up to make power. An easy solution would be to buy a supercharger. It will give you some nice HP increases but more importantly it will help out in the torque department. Plus superchargers are great for daily drivers.

Hondas have to rev higher to get power, but they are designed to rev like that. If you dont like revving so high, get a car with a bigger engine

You could adjust your timing slightly to get a little more low end, but you will be sacrificing a bit of that "7000rpm scream."

ALso, if you're not familiar with motors, timing, etc...I wouldn't advise it
