Default Intake manifold swap gone bad

There's a Civic I'm looking to buy for a pretty good price.

Ad says "ran excellant before intake manifold swap. starts but is sending an engine code this would take minor to no money to fix."

How would you fix this?

I tried calling the guy a few times, but between his work schedule and mine it's hard to get ahold of eachother.

Does he still have the stock manifold? The best thing to do with such cars is restore it to stock, get it running right, then consider mods again.

Never take a seller's word that the problem is simple. If it were he would've fixed it already.

I don't know if he still has the stock one or not. I'll ask him whenever I can get ahold of him.
