Default Intake sound problem???? No SHHHH sound

As most of everybody Knows already, I own a 00 Si. My problem is that before when I would turn off the engine my short ram intake would always make the sound of SHHHHH...No more sound....I know that most if not all intakes does the SHHHHHH sound when turning off the engine...

Any Ideas what could be wrong????I don't want to get bad air mixture and ruin my cat again?

Thanks everybody

the sound you were hearing is just the pistons drawing in a last bit of air after the ignition is killed but the crank is still turning. that cant affect your cat in any way, as the motor isn't firing that unburnt, unfueled air. there can be several reasons you dont hear it anymore, more friction in the engine would cause the crank to stop turning sooner, leaking valves or piston rings could equalize the pressure differential between the combustion chamber and crankcase, a dirty air filter could limit the air passing through to inaudible levels, hell even weather could cause the sound to go away when the hotter (less dense) air doesn't have as much mass passing through the filter.
or you could just have your hearing still adjusted to your 100+ decible radio that was turned down 5 seconds prior to turning your ignition off.

Filter is not to bad..I even tried my K&N filter from my accord (typhoon intake). Same resluts?????

I still hear my intake when I give that extra punch on city streets or on the highway. I'm talking about the woosh sound the intake makes when you turn off the engine. The sound it makes when it stops sucking air.. Kind of makes a sound of releasing air.

mine never made a whoosh sound when I turn my car off. Just when i'm giving it some throttle I hear it sucking in air while driving. Had a problem when it whistled all the time when I frist got it but tightened down some things and it went away eventually.

it's fine, if you want sound, just make the noise yourself.
