Default it's fixed,well kinda

I jave good news and bad news, the good news is I fixed the erratic idling problem, turns out it was caused by a vaccum hose that is connected to the air intake and runs down to the intake manifold,I took off the air intake assembly and started the car, while it was running I heard a hissing soung coming from that hose,so I put my thumb over it and it went from the crazy retarded idle to idling smooth around 800rpm I dont know exactly what would cause this, but I just plugged up the hose and it now idles fine,ok now the bad news after the fix i took it for a drive around the block and it dyied as soon as I came to a stop,I luckily it started back up but I had to keep it revved up or it would stall any input on what may be causing this,on my 89 1.5L
