Default jack stands

Am I an idiot? My jack stands do not fit the jack grooves on my civic (where the manual suggests to use the factory supplied jack). I have 3 ton jack stands from harbor freight. Any suggestions?

what do you mean don't fit? use a block of wood with a notch cut out for the four factory lift points.

Here are the jack stands I have...you can see how they would not make contact with the lift points. How do people normally do this with this type of jack?

sometimes, people support the car with the front A arms, or you could simply cut out some wood templates to fit the lift point tabs.

yea i use the front A arms. it definitely works the best for me. i just jack up the car from the front jack point, then put the jackstands under the a arms and let the jack down.

i see no reason why if you jack up the front of the car why those jack stands wouldnt fit under the front jack points, by fit i mean slide under there AND fit.

I agree with you My04Civic, I don't understand why these won't fit his civic. Even if the grooves on his civic are wider than the small groove in the jackstand, it should still be able to support it with no issue at all.

Are you sure you are using the correct 4 grooves?

I guess I just don't see how the male end of the lift point will fit into the female end of the jack stand. Clearly the small groove of the jack stand is at least an inch below the very top of the jack stand arm, so how is the male part supposed to reach down into the jack stand groove?

Am I just not getting something here? The stock jack has a groove that perfectly matches the tab that sticks out of the jack point. My jack stand groove is a huge U-shape that has a smaller groove at the very bottom of the U. I just don't see how sufficient contact is made here. Anyone have a pic, or have the energy to take one, of using jack stands like these with the factory lift points?

Am I just a retard? Don't answer that!
