Default key code


i have an europian honda civic model 1996 LS wich came with motor d15z6

now if i lost the keys of the car . and i tried any other key the car will not start because theecu of the have a key code is that right ?

and what shall i do to slove that matter? is there are any jumper can i cancel in the ecu ?

question in other way:
if i bought newengine which has a key code in the ecu . and i need to install that engine in my car. what shall i do to cancel thatignition key code?

or iam wrong and the ecu has no key lock code ?

The key code is not connected to the engine, its connected to the ECM. I do not know of any way to turn this off. You can go to a Honda dealership and they can make a new key that will work. Also, if your new engine is the same as your old engine, you can use the same ECM and you don't have to worry about the key.

umm you can get a new key made at the dealership. and that would be a hell of a lot easier than a new engine. and cheaper.

and i don't think any civics until 2001 used chips in the keys, so a new key should be hella cheap

my problem in other way iam in EGYPT

i bought this engine from germany d15z6 it came from the ls vtec

i installed it in my 1992 civic LSI which came with motor d15b2

i installed the new engine with itsfull harness and its controll. but the engine did not start. when i asked the mechanic say to me it has a key code on the control . or the control has something like immplizer

is that right ?

and if right what shall i do to solve that problem ?

what does ECM ?

civics in the us do not have immobilizers in the key before 2001. and some new ones might not even have them. i would cheack all your wiring and such to make sure your not overlooking something.
