Default Lithium grease

I'm going to lube up some hinges and locks and the manual says 'honda white lithium grease' is recommended. Is there off the shelf stuff that will work just as well?

Default RE: Lithium grease

For door hinges, I actually used waterproof grease, like grease that was meant for use on the wheel bearings on boat trailers and stuff, it said it was compatialbe with other types of grease so I figured it would be fine. It's been on there for a few months now and seems to be working just fine.

They sell lithium grease at the auto parts store for the locks.
