I recommend that you try cleaning the IACV (see forum DIY section) and then check the idle using a digital tachometer or scan tool (see diagram below).

Actually, I have heard that after clearing the ECU, it may need some time to relearn the proper idle. Therefore, don't take any action for another day or so to see if the idle problem goes away on its own.

thanks for the advice man, i reset the ecu on saturday.

the car ran fine on sunday and monday, but here on a warm tuesday, the idle messed up going to work, but on a cooler night driving home, the idle was fine.

That should be enough drive time for the ECU to relearn the idle. In addition to other suggestions in my earlier post, you might also want to check the air filter (clogged?) and the intake air temperature sensor and its circuit (Is the sensor connector on the air cleaner loose or disconnected?). Finally, while I don't think you have noticed the CEL ON, you should see whether any CEL codes can be retrieved from the ECU (see link in my signature).

By the way, a bad primary O2 sensor is an uncommon cause for a low idle, so I think it's a separate problem.

just an update on todays driving.

still no CEL back on yet......idle was messing up on hot ride to work today, but perfect on cooler ride home.

definately has something to do with the weather temperature outside.

gonna scan it again on saturday morning.
