Default Manual transmission problem

I have a 1998 civic ex. Within the last few months, the clutch has started slipping. Starting off in 1st, going from 1st to 2nd, etc. all the way up to 5th the clutch slips. Some days it's worse than others, but it's getting worse overall. I think it's just the clutch, perhaps the friction plate is getting worn out, or maybe the pressure plate is glazed.

Has anyone had a good experience with a transmission shop in Las Vegas that won't rip me off?

Very rarely this happens because pressure builds up in the hydraulic system. Loosen the bleeder bolt and make sure the slave cylinder doesn't move. Almost always it is because the friction material on the disc is worn out. Clutch replacement is a somewhat advanced DIY or something that any general mechanic could do, you don't need a "transmission shop".

I really wish I still has access to good tools. Thanks for the tip! I don't think the clutch has been looked at since it was purchased.
