Misfire problem got me baffled
Hey guys i was told this is the site with all civic questions hehe
I have a 92 1.5 automatic thats misfiring its been freshly tuned up with cap and rotor replaced as well. and it missing on cylinder2-meaning when i pull the wire from cylinder2 the motor doesnt drops and it lacks power.
I tried a spare iginion modular and its still the same prob ,dunno maybe it was bad as well
Any ideas guys?? theres no leaks or engine light either and it just all the settlen did this on our way to PA i noticed it.
Let me know what u guys think thanks!

Swap the #2 fuel injector with one of the other ones to see if it's a bad injector. Run a compression test. The ignition module will affect all cylinders equally, so it's not that.
Check that the ECU is driving all the injectors by listening with a stethoscope or plugging a small bulb like a #194 into the injector plug. The bulb should flash as the engine turns.
It's safer to check for dead cylinders by disconnecting the injector wires one at a time. The ignition coil tends to burn out firing into an open circuit like when you pull a spark plug wire off.

Injectors are easy to replace. Loosen the gas cap to relieve any pressure in the tank. Take off the 3 nuts that hold the fuel rail on and pull the rail away from the engine. The injectors should pull out of the intake manifold and stay attached to the fuel rail. Unplug injector (you will need to pry up the spring wire clip on the plug) and pull it straight out of the fuel rail. They just push in with an o-ring seal, be sure the ring is not damaged (ideally use a new one). After reassembling, run the engine and check very carefully for leaks.
ok we check both the wires and cap and did a pressure test and its not even getting 90 psi on that cylinder and it burns oil abit to .
We put a camera down there to check valve and it looks like theres a cartige build up i guess so the valve will need rebuild looks like uughhhh thats a 10 hour job!! we did unplug the injector so it would stop pumping fuel into that cylinder so it doesnt cause more damage.
Wish me luck guys i'll keep you guys posted
