My Air/Fuel
Hey guys, just got my 95 civic hatchback this week and I think something may be a bit off here. My car idles very rich, like the guage is almost if not all the way to the rich. When I'mstepping on the gas it runs rich, with about half throttle it is around stoich but still a little bit on the rich side. When I let go of the gas completely it goes all the way lean. I was told this is because you aren't giving the engine any gas so it runs lean, is this normal and is it bad for the engine?
Just so you know i have the JDM d15b vtec and 14b turbo. I don't know much about cars in general so I'm just trying to figure out as much as I can. The guy I bought the car had the "low cam" tuned on a dyno but not the "high cam". What is low cam and what is high cam, i think he said high cam is where vtec kicks in. Could someone please give me as much information as possible it will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Guys

if its not a wideband i wouldnt trust it, the narrow band a/f gauges bounce all over (or so i've heard)
and as for the cam, adjusting the high cam would adjust VTEC engagement point right? I wouldnt mess with that if i were you, keep VTEC at the stock engagement point

And about the high cam your talking about, I dont even know what it means. Iwouldn'tmess with it butI wanted to bring it to a mechanic for them to tune the engine and the guy I bought it from said he had the low cam dyno tuned and suggested I get the high cam tuned aswell. Wouldn't this be better for the engine to get it tuned?
Thx

It is not going to instantly go back to stoich if you slap the throttle plate shut. Are you running a FMU?

Edit: Searched it up, you must mean fuel management unit. I'm not sure, how can I tell?

Give us as much detail as possible on the car, the motor, and the turbo setup so we can get this diagnosed.
