Hey guys. So i have this 93 Civic that i just bought not too long ago and it shakes on acceleration. I just put new tires on it today and had wheels balanced and it didnt help. In first gear you cant feel it at all, but in second and up you can feel it and as the gears go up it shakes more. So in 4th and 5th its the worst. Where do i start? Thanks

 

I'd suggest that you check your engine mounts.

 

Engine mounts are new, axles are good, what else could it be?

 

Could be misfiring. With any new used car a general tune up: spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor is not a bad idea. Except for the plugs, don't use aftermarket parts, especially the wires. Yes the OEM wires are kind of expensive but there's a reason.

 

You also might check whether the engine timing is set to specification.

 

did you have a timing belt change?

 

i would say do a full tune up. i had a celica that did that. after new wires and plugs it went away. btw civic_burns_all sweet movie thingy! where did u get it?

 

it could also be the alignment

Update. Had done alignment, timing belt, plugs, wires, cap & rotor, fuel and airfilter. This seemed to help but its still there. Any other suggestions?
