Unhappy Mystery bell dinging

Very stumped. Have a 2006 Civic with about 100K on it. Runs pretty good overall. I have a mystery dinging sound and I cannot figure out what it is. It occurs periodically (often inside 5 minuts between occurences) and consists of 3 very soft dings. No dash lights come on when it occurs and no guages register any sort of reaction. If the radio is on, many times I do not even hear it.

Any ideas??

Do you have a nav system? If so,maybe a setting in there is causing it.

Does it do it with the Tom Tom off. A friend has one and it would chime once randomly and he found he'd inadvertantly set it to make a sound when approaching a crosswalk.

I'm just shooting in the dark here.
