Question Need a good mechanic in KC

I need a good reliable certified mechanic in Kansas City to work on my 98 Civic EX, who won't dick me around and try to take me for a ride. Anyone know of anyone good?

So I have a 1998 honda civic ex and my car won't start. The engine turns over but won't fire. The battery is new and working fine. Starter is ok, so is the alternator. There's a good possibility it's wiring considering I was driving down the highway and my gas pedal stopped working for about 30 sec then started working again all of a sudden. I have a great mechanic out in Missouri City but my car already has 190,000+ miles, bad tire rods and windows that don't work. I'm to the point where if the repair is expensive I"m just gonna go get another car and I only get 1 tow with triple A so I don't want to tow my car over 100 miles and then have to pay for the tow back to the city. Help please.....

Sounds like the no start is either the fuel pump, or you might just need a tune up (ie new distributor cap, rotor, wire set, spark plugs, and fuel filter) a new air filter would be a good idea too. Worst case scenario the timing belt broke, but hopefully that isn't the case.

Here are the Honda OEM part#s
fuel pump - 17040-S02-L01 PUMP SET, FUEL $204.57
dist cap - 30102-P54-006 CAP ASSY. $18.81
dist rotor - 30103-P08-003 HEAD ASSY., ROTOR $17.17
wire set - 32722-P2F-A03 WIRE, IGNITION (PRESTOLITE WIRE) $62.98
spark plugs - 98079-5514G SPARK PLUG (ZFR5F-11) (NGK) $2.52
fuel filter - 16010-S01-A32 FILTER SET, FUEL (FILTECH) $19.55

You can troubleshoot the problem yourself with our help.

1) When you turn the key to ON(II), do you hear the low humming noise of the fuel pump priming for 2 seconds in the rear and does the CEL remain ON or turn OFF after 2 seconds?

2) Check for spark as described at the Spark link in my signature.
