Default NEED HELP: 1999 Honda Civic EX Sedan

i drive a 99 civic ex sedan. theres a **** load of problems with my car that i cant figure out

-i only get like 200 miles for a full tank of gas. seriously. i pushed it up to 220 once i know somethings wrong but im not sure. how much do you guys get in your d16y8? and any solutions?

-somethings wrong with my brakes, i gotta step on it almost all the way for it to stop and it rumbles like crazy when brake on freeways, even on local roads going 30-45...my friend checked it out for me and he said my brake pads are brand new and my rotors arent bent (to the naked eye) but i have no idea

-the gas pedal seems stuck sometimes (gotta step on it harder to accelerate) when i accelerate but this only happens when i step on it lightly..isnt it supposed to be smooth?

-also how do i know if my engine maintenance light is on? is it green? or does it turn into another color? i cant tell

anything would help thanks

I get about 30 mpg and I have aftermarket parts on it. It's a d16y8 also with 112,000 miles on it. You should try Fuel injector/carbuerator cleaner like chevron(not cheap stuff), seafoam in the intake manifold/oil crankcase. Search 'seafoam' to get more info on it. Just cleaning the engine out will help quite a bit. If your still haveing problems after you might want to get anew air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve, check spark plugs, check o2 sensors, after 100,000 miles some ofthese should be replaced or atleast checked ...

check the brake fluid level, yours should have a resevoir with a line on it.

The check engine light is yellow, says CEL usually left hand side of the gauges.

green thing you're talking about is an oil change indicator, when it turns yellow, get your oil changed

you're check engine light is yellow, and lights up... you'll know it when you see it

as for the mileage and throttle, sounds like maybe a messed up throttle cable

you may have to bleed your brake lines. that would be the cheapest and easiest first step. I bought my 97 EX a couple months ago. It got 26mpg on my first tank of gas. Ive changed the plugs and wires, swapped the air filter since it was filthy and started using FP60 from www.lubecontrol.com and Im up to 29-30 mpg. I have a Y8 with 175,000 miles. I also had the shaking andfound the 2 driver side motormounts were bad and my rotorswere old. Swapped those and all better. I believe the motor mounts also helped the rough feeling shifts the car was having. All in all I bought the car for good gas mileage and it does a hell ofa lot better than my ram. Oh and I get about 260-270 to a tank and when I fill up the tank it usually only takes 9-9.5 gallons. good luck
