Default need help with lights

so my speedo was working when it wanted so i replaced the vss and nothing changed.
so i changed the speedo itself and it is fully functional now but now my dash lights are not working?????
what happened what did i do?
i drive a 95 coupe and i got the speedo from a 4dr 93 i think im not sure
any ideas? did i do something wrong?

You are talking about the lights that light up the panel at night, right? Do the background lights on the heater control still work? If you replaced the whole cluster, it is possible that all the illumination bulbs in it are burned out or missing. Or the connections to the cluster are not secure.

nope just replaced speedo
lights worked before
so now speedo works but no lights????

Is fuse 19 under the dash blown? Is the dash lights dimmer switch unplugged?

the one for the plate and back lights?
if so no i checked i unplugged everything and plugged it back up
anyone here think i blew all the lights in the dash, only the dash does not light up..

Again, did you check 10A fuse 19?

yes it is the fuse for the dash lights etc i have checked it

How did you check fuse #19? You can't always see whether a fuse is blown.

If the fuse is fine, pry the dimmer switch out of the dash, unplug the connector, and then short the red wire to the black wire in the connector using a jumper wire. Do the dash lights now work?

Wrap the tip of a flat head screw driver with tape and pry out the switch.
