New to honda's need help with firing order, Have checked everywhere cant get it right
Ok so new to honda's not new to cars, heres the important stuff:
1993 honda civic lx I believe the motor is a D15b7 Runs like crap backfiring and wont go fast Changed plugs Changed wires Picture: http://i1117.photobucket.com/albums/...th/img0142.jpg PLEASE HELP btw I know the engine is a hideous green, I just bought it the other day, this poor car has been molested bad :( |
For a 95 its 1 3 4 2, #1 is furthest from dist cap. Should be the same for yours.

proper spark plug orientation to the distributor
As the previous poster said the order is 1, 3, 4, 2. Just to offer a little more clarification:
The #1 plug is furthest from the distributor, #2 next closest, #3 next closest, #4 closest. If you are looking at the distributor as mounted on the car, with the flat portion at the top, the #1 position is at 7 o'clock, the #3 position will be at 10 o'clock, the #4 position at 2 o'clock, the #2 position at 5 o'clock. These are relative positions that will get your firing order correct, however, correct timing of the car should be done with a manual, and a light. Good luck, Ed Fisher Dallas, Tx |
Update
Fixed firing order, now it wont start, is it possible the distributor was installed improperly? it also backfires in an attempt to start. Probably going to have to break down and take it to a mechanic, can't say this is my proudest moment :( any other things I could check?

should look like the attached picture right?

there really isn't a way to get the distributor 180º out since the lugs and grooves are offset and will only accept one orientation. See attached.

Does my distributor look like it is properly installed? Based on the diagram I was looking at it looked like it was off
