Default No spark

Hey i just replaced my rebuilt engine in a 97 civic ex. Everything is hooked up and it cranks but doesnt turn over. There is no spark from the plugs. We checked the distributor and all the way to the spark sensor and everything is getting power and looks good. We were wondering if maybe it was a ground problem because we took out the cruise control, a/c, and windshield washer resovoir and snipped those wires. Could that be the problem? Thanks

Did you use a multimeter to perform the ICM input tests and to check the coil as described in the service manual?

How did you determine that the distributor is getting battery power?

If you remove the distributor cap and crank the engine, does the rotor spin?

If you think the problem is poor electrical grounding, you might want to try rerouting ground wires from the ICM and distributor sensors to the body frame.

Yes the rotor does spin and we used a test light on all the wires and fuses associated with the distributor

You should probably use a multimeter to check the coil and to perform the ICM input tests. A test light is not adequate to perform all the needed tests.

Also check whether the important G101 engine ground wire on the thermostat housing next to the ECT switch is connected.

Yeah it's real common to forget those grounds on the thermostat during an engine change.
