No Spark after swap
My son and I swaped the engine on his 90 civic. We swapped a 1.5 for a 1.6
but used the old distributor and intake as we did not have the ecu for the 1.6. After we have everthing installed we have no spark. I have checked the connections replaced the distributor with new checked the ecu for any lights and there are none checked the ground replaced the spark module in the new distributor and still nothing. The check engine light stays on while cranking.Any ideas? Steve

I think he put in a 1.6 block but still has the ECU, distributor and manifold from the 1.5. So it is basically a 1.6 with a ECU that thinks it's a 1.5. It may not run perfectly but it should at least start. At some point you will want to swap the other parts to a VTEC MPFI setup to get proper full performance.
Check that power is reaching the coil with the key on. Check the little ground wires on the thermostat housing. Very easy to overlook those during a swap.
