Hello i have a 97 civic with a d16y5, I just got done rebuilding the motor with all new after market parts, i rebuilt the car for a turbo, anyways i went to crank it up and nothing, it will turn over but wont start. At first i had a few things i did wrong and corrected like g101 ground was not connected but is now, injector clips were in the wrong order but as far as i kno everything is right, its getting a strong spark and fuel but still nothing. someone please help me!
by the way im running a stock p28 ecu if that matters

Spark wires in wrong order, cam timing wrong, distributor installed with shaft engaged 180 degrees out (it is possible, though you may have to force it).

Check by taking the upper timing belt cover off so you can see as you rotate crankshaft by hand until cam is at TDC1. Check that crank is also at TDC. Remove distributor cap, rotor must point to wire #1. The other wires go 1-3-4-2 going clockwise around the cap.

Also if the valves are adjusted too tight, there will be no compression and engine will not start.

ok on the crank pulley there are 4 lines, 3 side by side and one off to the right by its self. witch one of theses lines do i match up for it to be at TDC? and what exactly does the line match up with?

the one off by itself is TDC. I believe you line it up with a mark on the oil pump housing

i dunno about the fuel down the intake, i havnt tried that yet. the dizzy is the stock dizzy from that motor and Im throwing 3 CEL codes, #10,#19,#41. I think i might have fixed 10 and 41 but i need to reset my ecu to see if they go away, aparently the guy i bought my ecu from sold me a automatic ecu and didnt kno it, so i got a p28 auto ecu. thats why code 19 is showing, i heard it will start with a auto ecu and drive? is that true?

yes the auto ecu will run the car, we have a diy on how to convert the auto ecu to a manual ecu so you wont have a cel.

its only takes 3 things for a engine to combust and run, fuel, air, spark. (excluding the timing and technical stuff)
you gotta determine which one its lacking, what color is the spark?

diy = do it yourself we have a thread on how to do stuff yourself

here is a link.
