Default Noise from wheels

i was driving around the other night when i started to hear a metal on metal noise comming from the left hand side of my car. So when i got home i took the wheels of and had a look but everything seems to be ok can anyone suggest any things i should look for. it only happens when i go around left hand bends. cheers.

the connection of the drive axel at the left wheel

When you jacked the car up, before you took over the wheel, did you wiggle the wheel Was there any slop in any of the joints? Could the wheel bearings be shot?
