so today i go to adjust my driver's side power mirror. up/down works fine. when i try left it unlocks just the driver's side door, right has no affect not even in the mirror. help would be appreciated thanks

 

no clue how to help, but thats totaly random. I would kinda like to see that.

 

Did you do any electric work to your car since you last time adjusted your mirrors?

 

actually yes. when i bought the car the power locks weren't working. brought it back and turns out door off a 2000 civic with no power locks was installed in car (car was a recovered theft, doors had been stolen) so the entire door harness was swapped out and replaced with the correct one for a 98 with power locks. locks work fine as well as everything else, had i tried the mirror at the time i wonder if it would have done this current problem. but how could that have somehow linked with locks?

 

I assumed it worked before and just stopped working. If this is the case, come back to the shop which replaced the harness.

 

yea i'm just curious to what it could be, any ideas a short or open?

 

probably a cross wire, get a new harness, see where that takes it

yeah, thats my best guess

 

called the shop they cant look at it till monday. so i took the door panel off to see if i could find any frayed or burnt wires that may be touching and of course no luck. i figured if i unplugged the harness from the mirror that maybe it'd cut power off to the door actuator but it didn't. i just cant figure out how the mirror switch is now linked to the power locks, they same like total different circuits.
