oil burning?

Hey guys I am a newbie an could use a little help. I have a 96 hatch with a JDM type R motor (b18c5). When i get into vtec at full throttle in 3rd - 5th gear i blow a puff of blue smoke and then to a darkish white smoke.. I pulled my plugs and they are all clean as a whistle. I go through about 1 qt of oil every 2500 miles and only when i get on it. What do you think? Blow-by? Thanks in advance for the help guys.

RE: oil burning?

do a compression test and then do it again after pouring a few drops of oil into the cylinders. if its higher in one (or more) cylinders with the oil, then its rings. if not, it might be valve guides. good luck.

Well, if you're getting it through the rings, they're not that bad compared to most cases. A quart every 2,500 isn't that much.
