oil leak, need help

Default oil leak, need help

Hi,
I have astock 1991 hondsa civic DX from my uncle and it looks that is leaking from the left side of the valve cover soI star taking the valve cover out and i notes that the spark plugand the farleft side of the engine looking from the front of the car has oil in the threads, i talk to my uncle and he told methat he don't have a explanation since he just change the valve cover gasket, the leak looks that is coming from the bottom of the distributor if that is what you call it, sorry like i say i don't knowto much about cars, my uncle just give it to me to go to school, i apreciated any coments, thank you for the reply

clean the gasket and use a drop of silicone on those lifted ends around the cam/distributor... those are very common leak areas that just need a drop of sealer on them... alot of people say they dont need it and then thiers us smart people that say EXTRA security.... swap it once know it wont leak!

There are gasket rings between the valve cover and the head to keep oil out of the tubes that go down to the spark plugs. These should be part of the valve cover gasket set. A little oil down there is no problem anyway.
