does the plug seem normal (screws in and out fine) other than the leak?

Default Oil Pan

Screws in fine till about 2 or 3 threads. Think I use a wrench to get it the rest of the way. Tight it down to about 30 ft/lbs.

That is not right. Should screw in easily until the gasket touches.

This is the 3rd drain plug I have used. Along with the crush washers. That is way I had asked about an after market oem pan. Since I have seen there prices are from $60.00 to $90.00. Honda pans are over $200.00. Just wondering if any one has used an after market pan with no problems.

eBay. Nothing wrong with that site. Remember, with OEM replacement product, fitment may not be 100%, but extremely close. I would suggest getting a Honda gasket at least.

Type in d16y8 civic oil pan into google, click shopping, then you should be provided with a bunch of results and places to buy a replacement from other than eBay.

You can also use a steel DX type pan. The engine block is the same, either type will fit.
