OMG!! DUM MECHANIC!!!!!
well the problem now is that the mechanic is about 30 mins away and my car not working......i dont think he will come to my garage and work on it, as for my car itself, i tried to turn it on and it seemd like it wanted to "but!" it then sputterd and died imediatly as if it were outa fuel...i do have 1/2 tank in it so if it is fuel i will start checking injectors first. o and thers a funky smell coming outta intake, kinda like fuel but stronger, a bit like vodka or starting fluid
When's the last time the fuel filter was replaced? I had a similar problem on my car when i got it, (the car would start sometimes, but wouldn't start all the time, but did seem like it was starting but wouldn't turn over)so i decided to start by changing out parts that needed to be replaced then or soon. First thing i replaced was the fuel filter, and it immediately solved my problem.

I definitely give the mechanic credit for honesty; however, I think he showed a complete lack of judgment in being okay with the idea of driving the car home.

hmm i am thinking of scraping this enging now, i have changed the fuel filter, spark plugs/wires, recharged tha bettery .....i might look at the injectors if thts not it ima buy something new. i am thinking k20 but i know thers alot of stuff to buy like axles, mounts. and i dont understand how the speedometer would work on that enginge(a speedo ment for a d16y8 read out k20a2 speeds)
The speedo doesn't read from the engine it is from the transmission and it works the same way no matter what tranny you are using I think. If you want to swap in a k20 then you need about $8k just fyi.
ok very weird......remmber i couldnt turn on my car, well turns out timing was way off, again, i double checked for more debry in oil pan and that was clear. as for timing, i never touched it unless the mechanic i had it at moved it, im guessing if so he didnt jump the harness under the glove box and the car tried to correct itself ....hmmm. i wont be able to contact the mech do to the holidays but i wanna thank evry1 that helpd out. funny thing is i have been having lots of timing issues for some reason
