Default Onboard diagnostics 2006 Civic

I am new to this site.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic 2 door coupe.
My check engine light came on.
Where is the onboard diagnostics plug located on this car?
Thanks

I have no idea where it is, but if you take your car to an auto parts store like Advance Auto Parts or Auto Zone they'll check the code for free and will most likely know where to look.

It's probably under the glove box area.

The guy at Auto Zone didn`t know where it is, that`s why I`m asking about it here.

Thanks

I think federal law requires all OBDII plugs to be in about the same place, under the edge of the dashboard on the driver's side, so they're easy to find.
