Default Overheating problem 96 civic

Hey guys,

A couple days ago I replaced my engine head with right one for my setup.
It started up beautifully. after i started the car, i let it run with the yellow coolant funnel until it didn't take anymore coolant and stopped bubbling, so i assume the system was bled. it wasn't until after i got back from my first test drive when i parked inside the garage and a heard a bubbling noise. i pulled up the hood and its coming out the hose in the reserve tank.also when i got back the idle was around 1,700rpm

this is the video of what it is and sounds like.

I have had this problem before where on long rides the car sounded like it was struggling and then i pulled up the hood and saw the same thing, so as of now I'm am not to sure what the problem is or what to try.

Car is:
1996 civic dx with d16y8 intake manifold and cylinder head with a y7 block.
p2p ecu. auto tranny.

so basically a minime swap.

Any help would be great,

Thanks

Engine cold, take the radiator cap off, start the engine and rev it. It should stay still in the radiator. Bubbles blowing out would mean the gasket or head is leaking.

Alright I shall check that out and get back. i kinda want to rule out the head gasket because i just put a new one on there with a newer engine head. I did it with a mechanic so I'm positive its not that, but i will try what mk378 said.

Thanks

If the head or the block is warped, a new gasket can blow out right away. Or your new head might have a crack in it.

true true, i didn't think about that, i ruled it out because it started greatly and ran good.
