Default Which oxygen sensor?

I checked on oxygen sensors locally and online and found that I could buy an OEM for $102 online and a Denso OE, Bosche OE, and Walker OE for around $75 to $90. The OE has the connector to hook right up to your original connector where as the universal unit has bare wires you have to splice into your harness. So what's your opinion on these non OEM units as far as durablilty and reliability? Of course the manufactures claim that technological advances have enabled the non-OEM units to be just as good as the originals. They have the Bosche available to me at a local Autozone that's real close to my house. So the Bosche has my vote for now but mostly for convenience and not based on any other reason. Which one? thanks for your time to respond. George

stick to OEM the AM are a POS and wont last!!! you may be better of going to a local wrecking yard to see if you can find one. its a 4 wire and you should be able to use one from a 96-2000

Do not go to a wrecking yard for an O2 sensor. Very bad mistake, unless you just intend on selling your car soon. (Would you buy a used set of spark plugs for your engine?)

You could never go wrong with OEM, that assurance ib itself is worth a few bucks in my book. I second the, "Stay away from used O2 sensors."

Im going to have to disagree. OEM makes parts as good and as cheaply as possible. The aftermarket makes high quality parts and then charges you. Most people wont look into the quality of OEM but the people buying aftermarket have to make a good product because that is their buisness. If they make a bad product you wont buy it and they go out of buisness. OEM makes a bad or weak product you get screwed and they go on selling cars, their real buisness.

If OEM was so great we would all have stock intakes and exhausts.

I recently installed a Bosch O2 Sensor on my 95 DX AT in attempt to correct my fuel economy. I'll get back with you on how it goes.

also check your fuse panel on the inside of your car there is a 7.5A fuse that is connected to the alt. if that is blown that will cure your oxygen sensor problem. which could mean that your alt is going bad.

uncle- if you can splice wires, go with a bosch universal. it will save you a few bucks and has worked fine for me in the past.
