Default P0301 Nightmare!!

My engine light comes on and sometimes flashes. The car runs fine at any speed. Sometime when going very slow I can detect a slight skip. This is what I have done:

1. Replaced all plugs with NGK- reset code- came back on Po301
2. Replaced #1 coil pack-reset code- came back on
3. Re arranged all four coil packs- reset code- came back on.

It is always the P0301 code. What seems to be the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Vic

Could be the valve adjustment or injector #1 (swap injectors 1 and 4 and see if problem moves to 4)

I can try that. Is that difficult to do?

Valve adjustment is written up extensively elsewhere. It may even be in your owner's manual if you still have it. Swapping injectors just requires unbolting the fuel rail (with injectors still attached), then unplug and pull out the injectors and move them. The electrical plugs have a locking spring wire on them that needs to be undone before the plug will come off. Be careful not to damage the o-ring that seals the injector to the rail or you will have a fuel leak.

Ok, I will give it a try. Never done that before and sure don't want to screw it up.
