Question P0335 code, crankshaft position sensor problem

My daughter's 2000 Honda Civic EX stopped running recently, it would turnover but wouldn't start. I figured it was the distributor. I installed a reman distributor from AutoZone with a new cap/rotor and new sparkplug wires. The car started but it was running a little rough with a CEL.

I drove it down to the AutoZone and they checked the code, he says it was P0335 (CKP sensor "A" no signal). I was previous unaware where the CKP sensor was located and he priced one fairly cheap so I bought it to install after I got back home. What he sold me, as I later learned, was actually a crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor (CKF) Duralast/Crankshaft Position Sensor (SU4087) | AutoZone.com.

So is it mislabeled in the manual or on AutoZone's website? In the manual I found a test for the CKP sensor on the 'new' dizzy so I'll do that later today. Thoughts? Is the code actually for the CKP or CKF?

When checking resistance for the CKP I get readings of 11-16 MΩ, depending on reversing red/black probs on the #2 & #6 terminals. Obviously this is above the 350-700 Ω specified by the manual.

I suppose I should swap the distributor at AutoZone. Is it common to have a bad crankshaft position sensor on a new/reman distributor?

CKP and CFK sound like they refer to the same thing. Definitely have the distributor swapped out and see what happens.

Got a new one. I checked it at the parts counter and got 354 Ω, I'll put it on in a few min.
