P0505
Approximately 100 miles ago, I removed the throttle body to clean it. Just today I poped up the dreaded check engine light, so I plugged my obd 2 reader to the obd port which read P0505. I know what this code means but could cleaning the tb caused this code?
-All hoses and connections are good
Thanks!!!!

Is your idle speed now higher than normal since the throttle work was done? If so, you probably created a vacuum or intake air leak when you removed and reinstalled the throttle body. Check for any vacuum hoses that you forgot to reconnect. Did you install a new throttle body gasket and torque the throttle body bolts to spec?

When I removed the tb the first time I did not replace the gasket. Just today I replaced the tb gasket. My idle speed seems normal but did not torque the bolts to spec, since I dont know what spec is recommended? Any help would be great. Vacuum hoses are good also.
I forgot to mention car is a 1997 Civic EX w/manual transmission

Problem came back yesterday, same code also. I decided to buy a Idle Air Control Valve from the auto parts store and installed it. Car ran good up till about 30 miles are so and now the cars rpm is bouncing up and down. On top of that my temp gauge now just started to rise I pulled over let the car cooled down and drove the car back home. Going to see whats going on with the car today and give any updates as I find out anything.
Still up for some more suggestions?

When you replace the IACV, you must top off the coolant in the radiator and then bleed the cooling system.
1) Park the car on an inclined driveway with the front end higher than the rear.
2) Push the dash heater lever/**** to MAX heat.
3) Follow the directions in the diagram below (ignore the bleed bolt step as your engine does not have one):
