Default p28 ecu

i have a 1996 honda civic ex and i cant get the knock sensor code off so i think i may look into getting a p28 ecu too clear this code. if i get a p28 ecu do i need to get an adapter for my car or will it hook right up? does it give any more performance?

Have you tried a new knock sensor? Grounding the sensor wire should keep the code off (but of course no protection against knocking). If that doesn't work I'd suggest replacing with the same ECU that's stock for your car.

yes i bought two of them, becauses when i replace it the first time it threw the code. so i bought another one thinking maybe it could of been a bad sensor, nope still have the code. why would just the knock sensor code on the ecu be bad? is the something wrong to get the p28 ecu?
