Default part # for pcv on 02 ex

I have an 02 ex automatic and I'm having some near stalls in the first min or so when starting the car after it sits for a little while. If it sits more than a few hours it's fine. I think it's the pcv valve and I'm changing the oil now so I figured I'd give it a try. After the initial min or 2 it run fine.

3 part stores say the part is only available from Honda. Is that possible or is there a generic available. Otherwise I'll pay triple for a $3 piece.

If anyone knows, I think the pcv is right above the oil filter on this car - just want to make sure. Maybe someone's replaced one before on a 7th generation civic.

thanks in advance for any help.

Is the Check Engine Light ON?

If not, you might have a vacuum leak or the idle speed needs to be adjusted.

no, no check engine light. That's why I didn't think it would be on oxygen sensor. The idle runs about 6-700rpm, feels about right. I figured the pcv would be a cheap repair before taking it in for some real service. Has about 146k on it and pcv has never been changed. Could be above and beyond the few things I can/will do to the car.

thanks

The picture is for an 01 Civic, which is likely similar to an 02 Civic. I hope this helps.
