I can not find my PCV on a 97 Civic EX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's hard to find, even with those pics. But to help you a little more it will be on the backside of the engine, under the intake manifold, just a little to the right from the center of the block (standing at the front of the car with the hood open).

It is connected into a little black box. Once you find it, you'll never lose it again lol.

have fun replacing it if you have big hands. it is a rather tight space to begin with, and it gets a little smaller if you try to do it from the top like i did. by the time i was done my hands were all jacked up. if i ever have to do it again i think i will try a little harder to do it from the bottom.

Yeah, i did mine from the top, but luckily i have a Y7 and there is a space in between the 1,2 and 3,4 runners to get at it. It was not easy and i scraped my hand off of the manifold a good few times.

how do you check whether the pcv is stuck open? also, i understand the repair is difficult b/c of tight space but are there any other issues? like having to remove other things to get to it?

You can hear the check valve moving around inside if it's freely moving. Kinda sounds like a rattle. Just pick it up and wiggle it around.

It is just a general indicator to see if it is good or not, but it's such a cheap part that you might as well replace it, if you are worried about it.
