Perplexed!
Hi I am new here. I just bought a honda civic hatchback (2000) standard transmission. When the people we bought it from went to start it (after sitting in garage since April 07) they found the alternator had ceased (it was acting fine when they parked it) my husband replaced alternator yesterday now it won't start. The gas tank was near empty so we filled it, we boosted the car it turns over and it kicked over twice but wouldn't stay running. We put a battery charger on last night to see if that helps. We really don't know what to check next. Any ideas out there? Thanks!
We also have a 2003 Honda civic hybrid and love it!

Did theCivic ever startedandstay running in your possesion? If it quit running after changing the alt. Check to make sure everything is hooked correcly.
If it turned over and and it quickly dies, I would suspect a fuel delivery problem. I had the same problem with my nephew accord when it sat in my driveway for many months. I shot some starting fluid down the intake toget it started. A lot of peolple don't like trying this method but keeps from draining your battery but it works when a car sits for awhile.
