Hello, i am in desperate help! i have read numerous forums up and down with no avail. i have a 1990 4 door civic lx. my problem is this: car idles fine. once i drive my car for about 2 minutes i get a hunting in the idle, loss of power and car wants to die. i have changed the iacv with a new one and checked for vacum leaks. also if my gas tank has less than half a tank of gas and i come to a abrupt stop my car sputters and stalls. also i dont know if this helps but when im driving the car and it starts hunting, if i park the car shut it off for 10 seconds then start it, it will drive fine for another 2 minutes then it will start hunting all over again. please help and please dont tell me to go forum hunting cause i have on numerous forums. any insight will be greatly appreciated. thanks alot!!!!

 

Yet the CEL is not on? Any codes showing on the ECU?

 

Sounds like you not getting enough fuel.
try putting fuel injector in your gas tank and run the car for awhile.
you might need a new fuel filter.
fuel pump should be fine if it's starting.

 

thanks for all the suggestions guys but i found out the problem my fuel pump was completley rusted out and my fuel tank had rust like crazy inside so i just purchased a new pump and tank. thanks for your replies.
