Default poot. found out why the car stinks.

well after a bit o searchin, found the guy who built my car (audio wise). asked him bout the fuel smell inside the car. he said a poorly placed self tapper punctured my fuel tank. damnit. well, he said he tried to patch it but to no avail. now i need a new tank, and fuel pump gasket (i bet). anybody dropped a tank on a ej2 before? what perilous journey am i about to embark upon? tips? kthxbye

I've never done it but it doesn't look very difficult. Probably just have to drain it, remove the fuel pump from the top, and disconnect the filler neck from it

EDIT:

bada-boom!
