Power Door lock

Does anybody know how to go about replacing the actuators on a 99 ex. My door locks dont work, I can hear a clicking sound coming from somewhere from dash or below it when I move lock/unlock switch. Both fuses have been replaced. Im looking to have remote start/ keyless installed and I was quoted $300 because they would have to put motor(s) in for the locks.

Your actuators may be fine and the problem lies elswhere. My 00 EX has a keyless remote. Start by checking behind the driver's kick panel for a keyless receiver unit:

That is where the clicking is coming from (keyless receiver unit).

Using a multimeter to conduct the input tests detailed in the diagrams below should pinpoint the problem.

After you fix the lock problem, just purchase a 99-00 Honda remote and you should be good to go.

Could someone point me to where the ground (G551) would be  I dont know how to read wiring diagrams so I need to have my hand held :D

a bump for me

Are you asking because the black ground wire lacks continuity?

Asking because I dont have multimeter let alone know how to use one, but have seen on another board that some had same problem and was bad ground. I have the keyless remotes and when I use lock/unlock buttons everything works(lights, horn, dome light) but doors dont lock/unlock.

If you can borrow a multimeter, we can tell you how to do voltage and resistance tests. You don't need to know the location of the ground connection to do the test this way. Visually inspecting the ground connection may not be definitive.

will try to find one.
