Default Power window porblems 93 ex

Hey whats up yall? I've been having some issues with my power windows ( mainly the drivers side, but passenger side does it sometimes too) since I bought my 93 EX a few weeks ago. I've searched on here and have read that the power windows have been a problem with these cars and that sometimes the window can come off the tracks or whatever. My problem is that my windows go down fine but the going up part is intermittant. Sometimes the windows roll up at a decent pace and then slow down dramatically as the window is about 5-6 inches away from the top. Other times the windows will barely roll up and you have to pull up the windows by hand. Today I took off the door panel to get a better look at what the regulator was doing as the window was rolling up. The regulator appears to push out towards the doorskin once the window has began to go up a little bit. From this point on it's slow all the way up. I took out the glass and removed the regulator from the door and plugged it in and it operated up and down smoothly with no problems at all. So I am not sure if the problem is in the tracks or the regulator or what. Something is causing it to bind when it's inside the door because I did notice that the power window motor was very hot right before i pulled out the reg. Anyways, if any of you guys have ahad this problem or can point me in the right direction it would be great. I'm hoping not to have to buy new reg's because im a low ranking guy in the Air Force and i dont get paid crap so i dont really have that money to shell out right now. Thanks alot.

Jeff

You have to lube the window channels, align the window PERFECTLY and also make sure the window is completely in the channel...its almost impossible to do this without help

Thanks for the quick response. Can you tell me how to make sure I have the window aligned perfectly and what i should lube the channels with? that would explain why the window is even slower than before...i did it by myself. Thanks.

WD-40 isn't gonna work for long there...you should get grease for rubber...clear one too. You can tell if they're aligned okay if you look at the top and they go into the top of the weatherstrip correctly

ive been having the same problem with my tracks on my drivers side. I used a spray silicone which is going to be a lot better than wd40. But i do recommend you goto the dealership and pick up some "shun-itsu" its what honda uses to grease the windows at teh factory.
