power window prob.
96 civic ex, passenger window doesnt work at all. it did there for a lil while. but then we replaced the drivers side window because it was broke. the glass itself. didnt touch any wireing except for the usuall disconnecting of the connectors for the switches. then the passenger window stopped working. i cant figure it out. i checked all the wires none of them broke. as for the fuses, i dont know which fuse is for the windows because the lil panel that tells ya what fuse goes where is not there. i heard there is a relay? where is the relay? if anyone can enlighten me on this lil problem.
thats a good thread for removing the window, motor, and regulator. but doesnt tell me anything about the window relay. my problem is electrical. not mechanical. if someone could just tell me where the relays are at in this car. i have a feeling that its the relay that went bad for the passenger side window.
Check out the electrical first, but don't completely rule out mechanical. An easy way to determine if it is electrical or mechanical is to pull off the door panel, take the connector off the motor and get a regular 12v car battery (or a booster pack) and apply voltage manually with a couple of wires to the motor itself. If it moves you know it's electrical, if it doesn't you have a bad motor. Also with the door panel off it allows for a visual inspection of the regulator. As for the fuses (i'm not sure if there is a relay, i think it's just a fuse), the owners manual sometimes gives you the map for the fuse box, if not you could most likely find it in a service manual (such as Haynes)
