Premium gas????

i have a 1998 Honda civic ex and it says to put unleaded fuel in on my gauge cluster>...would it hurt to put premium fuel in every once in awhile? and what would it do if i did put premium fuel in it? i have no major mods as where i need to use premium in it. thanks

There's no need for you to put premium fuel in your car unless you have something requiring higher octane.

You're just wasting money as it runs OK on regular fuel. It will not clean your engine or increase performance or gas mileage. Premium is only necessary for cars built with higher-compression engines that knock with regular.

ok thanks guy what about is there a bad gas station to get gas? like is a bp have better gas then a speedway or shell or whats a good place with the best type of gas?

i use bp. i've gotten the best gas mileage from bp gas. plus their gas stations are so clean that it's a lot nicer buying gas there from some nasty chevron.

BP, Shell, Texaco all have high quality gasoline. and no, high octane is not required, unless you want to clean out the fuel system every now and then.
