Problem with AC (Honda Civic 2002 LX 4DR)
I had an accident in 2003 and had the front bumper, lights, radioator and AC condensor replaced.
In 2004, the AC stopped working and the body shop filled freon and it worked for a few months. Then in 2005, the AC stopped working again. So the body shop recharged freon again and told me that they fixed the leak. Now the AC stopped working again and I took it to a different shop who told me that there was a leak in the condensor. So they replaced it since it was under GEICO's warranty.
A week later the AC is not working again and the shop tells me that it is the AC evaporator.
How can they tell it is the evaporator? Also how can I recharge freon myself. Is there a DIY guide with visuals?
Please advise.
Thank You,
Shahtech

Nope no water leak.
I just noticed that the engine fans are not working either. So when I turn on the AC, none of the engine fans start even after I keep the car on for 30 minutes. Wierd.

the fan is not the factor because you're still losing refrigerant. you have to have a leak somewhere in your ac lines. don't get me wrong the fan not working doesn't help the situation.
