Default problem with brakes

ok i know this was brought up before but what i read was not the same as my question. I have a 97 honda civic ex 2dr. I replaced my pads and rotors on the front of my car before i changed them nothing was wrong except that the pads were low now after i have changed them the whole car shakes when i brake around 50 to 60 mph any ideas on what this could be the lugs are tight the wheel bearing are not bad and when you are not braking it does not shake at all

The first thing I think of are the rotors. What kind of rotors did you buy? Did you buy the really cheap ones at the part store. I have installed new rotors (the cheap ones) right out of the box they are warped.

I doubt the rotors are going to be warped right out of the box but if you bought cheap rotors, they are probably more likely to warp under extreme braking. Take the rotors out and take them to a machine shop/parts store and have them check if they are warped. If the rotors are not warped i would check the hubs. Also, make sure the calipers are bolted down properly.

I'd say its the rotors....more than likely they are out of round (warped)....like forealb50 said, cheap parts arent always the best route.

I HAVE to buy my brake pads from Honda, Autozone and Murrays brake pads are a little smaller than the Honda pads, wich makes them rattle like crazy, and wear unevenly.

And before someone says it was the clips that were worn out, it wasn't, I put in Honda pads, and the problem went away

Why did you replace your rotors in the first place? May be you can try to put them back?

the reason i replaced the rotors is because when i do my brakes i would get my rotors cut well we have moved and i only have the one car so i decided to just buy rotors because i can not take them anymore to get them cut and the old ones i threw out because it braked fine i thought till i got to about 60 mph and had to brake then it would start shaking and now it shakes till i completely stop

ok i figured out what happened with my brakes i don't exactly know how this makes a differents but it did i had gotten bendrix brake pads and they came with shims for the pads so i put them on well i just took them off because i have been trying everything just short of changing the calipers and so when i took them off the car did not shake anymore it just stop the way it is suppose to

Sorry to say this, but I'm 99% sure this is not the fix.
